Tennis Reading
To begin our program in Dadeville, every classroom was given five books about tennis and tennis heroes. Books are grade level appropriate and may be read to or by our students. We kicked off this program by having a tennis reading contest. Students in each class who read the most books were awarded a racquet. All books meet national standards and have been vetted by our teachers. Of course some students read all the tennis books and more. Some read as many as 50 books in a contest that lasted for a month. Each time a student finished a book, he/she dropped a ticket in their classroom box for a drawing for racquets at the end of the month.
Our Reading for Racquets recommended reading list : (You may want to go up or down a level depending on reading readiness.)
